How does CARE's Partners for Change work?

After signing up on our website, your specified donation amount will be charged to your credit or debit card on the date on which you signed up. You choose the amount of your gift, and can modify or cancel your donation at any time. Your gift through CARE's Partners for Change allows us to limit our overhead costs and apply your contribution to the people who need it most: poor families and communities around the world. Monthly contributions are critical to the success of our work.

  • Will my donation be used wisely?
    We work hard to manage your contributions efficiently and wisely. Ninety-one percent of CARE’s expended resources are devoted entirely to program activities.
  • How much should I donate?
    Every dollar helps, so you can choose the amount that's right for you. Many people choose to donate $30 a month. By giving a dollar a day - less than the cost of a cup of coffee or Sunday newspaper - you can help alleviate suffering and provide opportunity for children and families around the world. The minimum pledge is $10 per month.
  • Do I have to use a credit card to join?
    No! However, using your credit card in conjunction with our secure Web server allows your donation to be used most efficiently to help those in need. If you wish, you may also pay monthly using your PayPal account or via direct bank account draft. While making your monthly gift online is a fast, secure and inexpensive way to support us, if you prefer to donate another way, please e-mail our donor services department any time at info@care.org or call us at 1-800-521-CARE.
  • What kinds of credit cards can I use? Can I use a debit card? What about PayPal or direct account debit?
    We can process American Express, Discover, Mastercard or Visa cards. If your debit card pictures one of these logos, it will work just fine, although using a credit card is recommended. You may also use your PayPal account, or do a direct account draft using your bank account and routing numbers.
  • How can I update my contact information or change the card I am using?
    To update your contact information or the credit card you are using to make your gift, please e-mail our donor services department any time at info@care.org or call us at 1-800-521-CARE or check out your online subscription management page.
  • How do I change the amount I give or cancel my participation?
    You can increase, decrease or cancel your monthly donation at any time through your online subscription management page, or e-mail our donor services department any time at info@care.org or call us at 1-800-521-CARE.
  • How will I receive a record of my tax-deductible donation?
    CARE's Partners for Change uses e-mail to minimize overhead costs and maximize your donation's impact. Each month, when your credit card is charged, you will be sent a receipt by e-mail stating the amount of your donation. We will mail you a tax receipt in January that shows the full listing of your gifts from the previous calendar year.
  • Is it safe to donate money over the Internet?
    Yes. CARE uses a secure Web server to process donations. And don't worry, we will not sell or rent your e-mail address to others. Read more in our privacy policy here.
