How does CARE’s Partners for Change work?
After signing up on our Web site, your specified donation amount will be charged to your credit or debit card on the date on which you signed up. You choose the amount and frequency of your gift, and can modify or cancel your donation at any time. Your gift through CARE’s Partners for Change allows us to limit our overhead costs and apply your contribution to the people who need it most: poor families and communities around the world. Recurring contributions are critical to the success of our work.
Will my donation be used wisely?
With over 90 percent of all resources going directly to CARE programs over the last five years, your recurring donation will have the maximum impact where it is needed most.
How much should I donate?
Every dollar helps, so you can choose the amount that’s right for you. Many people choose to donate $30 a month. By giving a dollar a day - less than the cost of a cup of coffee or Sunday newspaper - you can help alleviate suffering and provide opportunity for children and families around the world. The minimum pledge is $5 per month.
Do I have to use a credit card to join?
Using your credit card in conjunction with our secure Web server allows your donation to be used most efficiently to help those in need.
What kinds of credit cards can I use? Can I use a debit card?
We can process American Express, Discover, Mastercard or Visa cards. If your debit card pictures one of these logos, it will work just fine.
How can I update my contact information or change the card I am using?
To update your contact information or the credit card you are using to make your gift, please e-mail our donor services department any time at info@care.org or call us at 1-800-521-CARE. How do I change the amount I give or cancel my membership? You can increase, decrease or cancel your recurring donation at any time by contacting CARE at info@care.org or by calling 1-800-521-CARE.
How will I receive a record of my tax-deductable donation?
CARE’s Partners for Change uses e-mail to minimize overhead costs and maximize your donation’s impact. Each month, when your credit card is charged, you will be sent a receipt by e-mail stating the amount of your donation. We will mail you a tax receipt in January that shows the full listing of your gifts from the previous calendar year.
Is it safe to donate money over the Internet?
Yes. CARE uses a secure Web server to process donations. And don’t worry, we will not sell or rent e-mail to others. Read more in our privacy policy.
