Tell Congress, Stand Up for Girls in Emergencies

Stand for girls in emergencies

Congress, Stand Up for Girls in Emergencies

In emergencies, girls too often become targets of violence and abuse. They are the first to be trafficked for sex or child labor; the first to be exploited as tools of war; and the first to lose their childhoods. Meanwhile, they are the last to be fed and the last to be enrolled in school. This must stop.

Today, more than 17 million girls have been forced from their homes by violence and other emergencies. Foreign assistance funding saves lives, builds stronger communities, and puts the needs of girls first, particularly during emergencies. Slashing these programs, under threat by the Trump administration, would only put more lives at risk.

Congress has the power to protect these lifesaving programs and it needs to happen now. But they won’t stand up for girls around the world unless they hear from you.

Millions of girls have already lost their homes. Don't let them lose their futures.
