CARE's Women's Group Partners Are Making a Difference.
Join Us!
As a member of one of our women's group partners, your voice is key to CARE's efforts to bring about real and lasting change in the lives of women around the world.
We would like to invite you, along with other members of your national organization or local chapter, to join us at the CARE National Conference and Celebration on May 11-12 in Washington, D.C., for two days of political action, learning and inspiration.
You will:
- Hear from top activists and lawmakers. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will deliver the keynote speech, joining other notable speakers including Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL), CARE Advocate for Maternal Health Christy Turlington Burns, Humanitarian and Author Malaak Compton Rock, and the First Lady of Sierra Leone Sia Koroma.
- Engage in interactive workshops focusing on girls' education, women's microfinance programs, maternal health, and global women' empowerment
- Connect with other women in the "Doing Good in Tough Times" More magazine special session
- Meet CARE's "I Am Powerful" award recipient, Goretti Nyabenda of Burundi, in person. Goretti, whose inspiring story is featured in "Half the Sky," is a successful entrepreneur and community leader who took part in a village savings and loan association with the help of CARE.
- Visit our Marketplace and Action Center where you will learn about CARE's three signature programs and have a chance to purchase items made by female artisans all over the world.
You will also receive hands-on training for promoting the issues you care about on Capitol Hill, and then meet with your own U.S. senators and representatives in person to educate them about why women's empowerment is important to you and your organization.
