2011 CARE's National Day of Action

On Monday, October 17, in recognition of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, people across the country will come together to commemorate CARE's National Day of Action. They will stand in solidarity with the more than 12 million people who are struggling to survive the ongoing famine in the Horn of Africa.

By signing up to take part, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Join a CARE-hosted national briefing call on October 17 at 8pm ET on the importance of working with women and girls in times of crisis

  • Learn how to live on $1.50/day and stand in the shoes of those who struggle with extreme poverty every day

  • Encourage your legislator to prioritize relief and development efforts in the Horn of Africa and across the globe

After you sign up to participate in CARE's National Day of Action, we'll provide you with details on how you can join the October 17 briefing call – and tips to help you commemorate this important day.
